It uses an L motor for the drive and a servo motor for steering. This model is a major improvement over the 10 year old Renault Magnum in terms of playability: The L-motor gives much better ground clearance, while the servo motor makes the truck easier to control than the old model. Speed is also improved due to the L-motor, and with the new generation of self-decoupling trailers, the decoupler is no longer required on the truck. This is, however, not as advanced as the PFx controlled version that I presented previously. If you have a PFx brick, then I recommend building the PFx version, but if you are among the 99.9% of people who do not, then this Power Functions version is still lots of fun to drive around with. The trailer is also Power Functions powered with a power operated rear lift. The legs and decoupler are operated when reversing and there is a complete light strip around its edge which glows in dark. This is also all shown in the video, although the trailer is not the main subject of this video - I will make a separate video once I am happy with all of the details of the trailer.
