@cherylskates4 years ago Wow!!! I need that! I have a 16" electric chain saw. Works good, but I have caught the chain & loosened it many times. Always taking down brush & small trees. This looks so much easier to use. 11

@viclrice4 years ago This is one of the most impactful recommendations I’ve gleaned from YouTube! I live on 7 acres and frequently need to knock down weeds and scrub brush surrounding my manicured yard. This thing handles this better than any solution I’ve tried. Thx. ... 21

@GaryT19524 years ago Years ago I had a "Green Machine", latter became Shindawa. It came with a very sharp and aggressive circular saw accessory blade... similar idea as your chain blade. It worked like a charm but as yours did, had a tendency to dig in and climb or kick back. Wear heavy trousers and high leather boots...accidents happen in a split second with a blade like that. ... 28

@kjbense68723 years ago Dude you just saved my family’s summer 🙌 I live in Minnesota and when it gets overgrown with all kinds of ridiculous brush on a farm where the mower can’t get it and a gas string eater is laughable (takes forever) the mosquitoes quickly get outta hand - it’s not enjoyable to be outside - the only way is to get all that brush out - this is something I’m gonna get right now - thank you 🙌 ... 3

@6605eric3 years ago Thank God my wife found this. We were looking at spending a bunch of money to clear out the brush on new property. It may cost me more time but it beats the cost of a brush mower. Great video - thanks!! 2

@mikepurvey52054 years ago I’ve used and used up a number of the forester blades. Good stuff and can be resharpened. That said they don’t keep an edge long so you’ll need several for a days work. I’ve recently switched to the Renegade blades and they really ARE better. The carbide holds up much better than even the carbide forester blades by a huge factor. 5x? Regardless be very respectful of these blades. Chainsaw chaps are a worthwhile PPE as well as a face screen helmet. ... 19

@billkeefe91184 years ago Good stuff SC!
I’ve have this blade and used it on bittersweet vines and it’s better than expected since the vines like to grab other types of cutters.
I’ve also used it to trim the kids hair since the barbershop is closed, they’re recovering, they won’t need a trim for a while 🤣🤣😉

@nowakezoneforever60214 years ago I bought this blade on your rec back then but wanted to wait until I tried this one against a Diablo blade before I commented. This blade is far and away better than a regular circular saw blade in every way. The learning curve is about 10 minutes to teach you which side of the blade to use. And you don’t need to swing it back and forth. Adjust your harness, make it comfortable, and have at it. If all you’re cutting are regular weeds, you don’t need this. But for clearing saplings and scrubs that haven’t been thinned in much too long, this is the best.
To the folks who ask why not use a chainsaw.... maybe for a few saplings that would be fine, but when it comes to cutting many, many saplings close to the ground do you really want to bend over with a chain saw for hours?

@ankurasati80379 months ago For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected. ... 20

@TheSilverSurfisher4 years ago Hi, can you explain that washer you put on before screwing on that nut from the trimmer? What do you mean "find yourself a washer....."? @MildarValsiklast year The biggest selling point to any type of weed eater brush trimming ideas id the fact thst it saves my back from having to kneel down or bend over to cut at the base. Got all the goods. Like a pole saw, chainsaw, and this is the next with just a modified circular saw blade and a good bolt. ...

@matteliano4542 years ago Another tip. Files only cut in the forward direction. At you are pulling the file over the teeth. This is only damaging the file, not sharpening the teeth. Steve's Small Engine Saloon has a great video on sharpening chainsaw teeth/blades. ... 1
  • @
@jimmieusaf-pol58184 years ago These type of blades are very efficient when cutting mostly smaller saplings, brush and vines close to the ground, but do your research before using and expect kickback or sidekick very quickly if you try and cut anything solid from the wrong side of the blade. You will figure out what the wrong side of the blade to cut with is very quickly, if you feel like you have no control over the blade. ... 15

@rickcormier91602 years ago I have an ECHO PAS system so I bought the ECHO PAS brush cutter a couple of weeks ago. It is still in the box though. When the blade goes out I will try this one or the Renegade. (Project Farm rated the different blades recently. I forgot his recommendations, but ECHO did poorly.)
I will only use it on very small trees out of fear of a kick back. I read that you should only cut in one direction depending on the blades cutting direction to avoid it getting out of control.
I will also make sure no one, or my dogs, are nearby.

@Mr.Studer8 months ago I ordered these for my weedwacker, exited to see what I can clear out.
I'd defiantly wear some proper steel toed boots when doing this, also to sharpen, give it about 3 strokes when sharpening each tooth, and you want to sharpen from the inside out, also not sure if those teeth have markers for the angle, but the angle is important... another thing it looks like it also has rackers, take a flat file and take each down a notch to make it bite more... I'm going to experiment when I get mine. ...

@yz56654 years ago Nice video. A technical question. All non-chain blades on a trimmer videos I've viewed used a blade conversion kit. Trimmers in those videos were powered by gas which would have higher power output. Is the blade conversion kit a nice-have or must-have? ...

@aironnoles55884 years ago Would a Cutoff blade work even though cutoff disc are primarily used for metal ?
Update : Tried a 6" Cutoffi disc and worked but taken roughly 10-15 seconds to cut an 1" tree . Maybe if the disc were a little bit bigger it would cut more effortlessly ; if a bigger blade does work better one of the advantages would be is you don't have to worry about sharpening the disc vs blades .Tried a 10" saw blade and had somewhat better results in the 10 minutes I've used it . Actually trimmed a few saplings and was able to use it as an pole saw but motor will die if you try to start off to fast , you have to squeeze throttle slowly , but that could be that I'm using to heavy of a blade . Also even the smallest of vines will stop the blade although going full throttle , stalling seems to happen less frequently . I was in the store looking at my options long time ago and the ideas were weed trimmer Bush cutter attachments , Sharpening an edger blade ( which in the future I may try this one for fun ) , and using an old lawnmower blade but so far I'm happy with my purchase , Thank You ! I tell you , you can hear that blade when it gets going real fast , has a slight whistling sound . The only problem I might would have is the blade wobbles , due to me having to use a small bolt to secure it on . I'll have to keep looking for an 3/8 bolt with an 5/8 shank or spacer of that size then that may take out the play . I will update this in the future ! Also cuts grass although the string is probably faster so you may just want to keep the string . ...

@SethMethCS4 years ago Can you please recommend chelated iron powder for lawns? Lawnstar Chelated Liquid iron is $50 a gallon and has only 6% iron. Am I paying for mostly water or is there a good reason this form of chelated iron is so expensive?
Iron-Tone is powder in a 5 pound bag, cheaper with an unknown percentage of active ingredients. It looks like you’re paying for a 5 pound bag of filler ingredients with a few percent chelated iron mixed in.
There has to be a dirt cheap way to add chelated iron to lawns and gardens that the pros know about!

@rph2474 years ago Good video. IMHO, your kind of trimmer should be used only with line no thicker than 0.095-inch (2.4 mm), and, nothing beats a Husqvarna 300-3T ($29, 3.7 mm) brush blade (a thinner, economical alternative is an Atie 12" x 3 teeth ($13, 3 mm) heavy duty steel brush blade). I recommend these be used on large (30 cc and up) straight shaft trimmers. Have used them for the better part of last 20 years, sharpened razor thin. No problems whatsoever. The others, including a Forester, have ended in the recycle bin. Hope this helps. ...

@Zomby_Woof2 years ago I can't look at this without thinking of a motor swap.
Typical string trimmers are about 500w..
But you can easily get motors that are compact and pump out 1000w, 2000w, 5000w..
And that's before you hotrod them with a custom controller.
You could easily build a unit with 10 continuous HP, peaking to 20.
It would be all fun and games until the blade grenaded.
