@BKKKevin3 years ago This is emblematic of why I gave up on retirement in Thailand!… National & Local Thai Immigration offices ever shifting and arbitrary interpretation of rules make annual extensions year round stress. One needs to basically follow forums and such daily to keep up to date year round… Or risk showing up to Immigration only to find yet another new rule change posted on the entry door some of which can force you to fall out of compliance with no in country recourse… I don’t want to retire in a place where I have to have a full time job of keeping up to date on what paperwork is required at my local immigration office… ... 23

@sabaisabai86263 years ago Me and my Thai wife are planning to retire there next year. But neither of us are getting the jab. This would surly throw a monkey wrench into the plans, needing the jab passport to stay in the kingdom. I better start looking at other alternatives. ... 1

@robertbarnes6733 years ago Wonder where the follow-on booster(s) will fall in? Unless the private hospitals get adequate supplies, I see a lag beyond 6 months for getting the booster.

@kidneyw3 years ago At CW, it is just a questionaire you fill in at the entrance of the building. No proof necessary to back up your answers to the vaccination questions.

@ronaldsimmons95173 years ago People are commenting with the understanding that Thailand has a "normal" government with "normal" processes. It does NOT. Thailand does not have a civilian government by the people, for the people. Thailand has a military government by itself for itself. Therefore, every week is week one of boot camp. ...

@whaleshrimp1113 years ago It is getting funny! I ate breakfast with some foreign retirees in Chiang Mai after watching a video about the possibly increasing financial requirements to get a retirement visa. The topic of conversation at breakfast was about foreign retirees selling their condos and getting ready to move away from Chiang Mai because of the air pollution that has already started effecting peoples health in mid November. It looks like there could be a real estate crash coming up here in a few months. ...

@lungha98273 years ago WTF…shouldn’t all the immigration offices be on the same sheet of music? Who’s running things…the government in Bangkok(the capital of Thailand) or are each province running their own thing 😵‍💫? Who’s in charge there?

@brendanscully57873 years ago Also difficult/expensive to travel whilst not being vaccinated........may as well get it as the Thais are anxious. I have booked via website......not thrilled though. Some villages do not want you in their municipal if not vaxed. Just did a drive through (90 days) at immigration in chiang mai adjacent to the airport - not a problem, nothing changed as of yesterday......don't have to get out of car. Pfizer thanks.... ...
