We asked Muslim Victorians to share their best wishes to those celebrating Eid al-Adha during this challenging time. Thank you to the many generous people who took the time to create video messages. We hope you had a safe and happy Eid. Eid Mubarak! Translation: Hello to all Muslims worldwide - I'd like to give my deepest congratulations to you all in regard to Eid Ghorban (also known as Eid al-Adha). Eid Ghorban is one of the most important days of Eid celebrations for Muslims annually - it usually involves large gatherings and celebrations for the community. We can continue to celebrate this special occasion, but because we are trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and because of instructions by DHHS to follow restrictions, we can instead use technology to see each other, share our happiness and celebrate virtually. I wish everyone (worldwide) good health, especially those in Australia, Victoria and Melbourne.
