Chinese Oracle-Bone Inscriptions

The oracle-bone inscriptions were the earliest known Chinese writing carved on tortoise shells or animal bones. In the Shang Dynasty (1600–1046BC) when the oracle-bone inscriptions were invented, they mainly recorded divination questions, such as "will it rain tomorrow?", "will we win the battle?"
