@jadepolendey41148 years ago I always used fondant on covering my cakes but i have a big problem. When i get my cake covered with fondant from the fridge, just a few minutes it has a moist texture it doesn' t dry at all.
  • @
@victoriacrook36328 years ago Followed this recipe exactly. Used hardly any of the extra icingsugar at the end as my mixture was so firm and i could barely knead it before it became hard and crumbly. I worked quickly to prevent it drying out. Now after just over 24hrs it is too brittle and crumbly. After adding lots of water to try and bring it back to a pliable dough to work with, it is now rubbery and completely useless to work with, especially for making flowers as once rolled out it stays flat even after shaping and cupping petals.
please, have i done something wrong? Should i try working it into normal fondant and hope it resembles gumpaste? Should i just start again? Any help or advice from anyone would be extremely grateful
